Job summary

Agile Space Industries in Durango, CO is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and deliver propulsion hardware and systems within multi-disciplinary teams.

You will lead design reviews, apply mechanics of materials and fluid principles, and ensure manufacturability from concept to production. The role offers growth in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with stock option eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or higher.
• 5+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics of materials and fluid engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design components and assemblies for rocket propulsion hardware.
• Lead design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) with cross-functional teams.
• Perform structural, thermal, and fluid analyses (hand calculations).
• Oversee vendor selection and transition to operations.
• Develop work instructions for assembly, testing, and integration.
• Hands-on hardware assembly, data analysis, and reporting.
• Identify risk mitigation strategies across development.
• Coordinate with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams.
