Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to join our Mechanical Engineering team. You will own design work across the full hardware development lifecycle and contribute to documentation, analysis, and verification for multiple disciplines.

You will work with minimal oversight in a cross-functional team, shaping development strategy, schedules, and budgets while delivering robust, reusable hardware for the New Glenn program. Experience with CATIA/SolidWorks/NX is desired.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years in mechanical engineering across hardware development lifecycle.
• Proficient in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation.
• GD&T knowledge per ASME Y14.5 or equivalent.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action for hardware non-conformances.
• Ability to read and produce drawings/models meeting program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the full engineering design cycle with depth across disciplines.
• Own product design, development strategy, and planning with minimal direction.
• Create, review, and maintain models, drawings, specs, and test procedures.
• Contribute to schedules, budgets, and milestones with technical approval authority.
• Develop and sustain engineering tools, processes, and best practices.
• Apply advanced engineering fundamentals across the full lifecycle.
