Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead the design, analysis, testing and review of safety-critical hardware for lunar transport systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and architecture, and guide junior engineers through research and development cycles.

You will apply advanced structural analysis, FEA, and GD&T while developing 3D CAD models in Creo, SolidWorks, or CATIA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and analysis.
• Strong capabilities in structural analysis, hand calculations, and FEA.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in a cross-disciplinary design team for mechanical hardware.
• Lead design trade studies and develop interface definitions and control documents.
• Create 3D CAD models, drawings, and install documentation; build and test prototypes.
• Plan, execute, and review engineering tests and data; mentor junior engineers.
• Review designs and support hardware builds through the lifecycle.
