Job summary

Teradyne is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our centralized Mechanical Engineering organization supporting advanced automated test equipment (ATE) and emerging silicon photonics technologies.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex multidisciplinary programs involving mechanical design, thermal management, precision structures, optical integration, and system-level architecture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in complex mechanical/electromechanical systems.
• Experience in product architecture development and cross-functional programs.
• Strong communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of mechanical architectures for advanced ATE and silicon photonics systems.
• Guide technical execution across complex, cross-functional product development programs.
• Develop solutions involving thermal management, precision mechanical systems, packaging, and system integration.
• Support teams through important technical decisions, tradeoff analyses, and risk mitigation activities.
• Help resolve complex engineering challenges where requirements may be evolving or incomplete.
• Partner across engineering disciplines to develop robust, manufacturable, and scalable products.
• Mentor and support developing engineers through coaching, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
• Help shape engineering standards, design methodologies, and best practices within assigned technology domains.
• Support products from concept development through qualification and production release.
