Job summary

You will design, simulate, and validate photonic components and systems, collaborate with silicon foundries, and drive test equipment concepts from concept to validation with hands-on lab experience and strong analytical skills.

Qualifications

• PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field with 2+ years hands-on Silicon Photonics design.
• Proficient programming skills for data analysis and layout design.
• Working knowledge of tape-out with at least one Silicon Photonics foundry and experience with its PDK.
• Expertise in passive optical components such as edge/ grating couplers, MMIs, polarization splitters/rotators.
• Hands-on photonic testing equipment experience in a lab.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication; ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and layout passive and active photonic devices using modeling tools.
• Collaborate with silicon foundries to streamline processes.
• Conduct rigorous testing and characterization of devices and PICs.
• Contribute across all development phases from concept to validation.
