Job summary

Teradyne in Agoura Hills, CA seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to help develop next-generation semiconductor test and silicon photonics platforms. You will work with electrical, optical, software and manufacturing engineers to advance mechanical architecture, solve complex problems, and guide projects through production release.

You will mentor junior engineers, contribute to best practices, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements and ambitious technology goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in complex mechanical or electromechanical systems.
• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong communication, collaboration and mentoring skills.
• Comfort with evolving requirements and technical ambiguity.
• Experience in semiconductor equipment, automated test equipment, or optics is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of mechanical architectures for advanced ATE and silicon photonics systems.
• Lead portions of product development and provide technical guidance on projects.
• Develop solutions involving thermal management, precision mechanisms, packaging and integration.
• Perform engineering analysis and evaluate design tradeoffs.
• Support resolution of complex engineering challenges through the lifecycle.
• Collaborate across disciplines to produce robust, manufacturable products.
• Participate in design reviews and help establish standards and best practices.
• Mentor early-career engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Support products from concept through qualification and production release.
