Job summary

Teradyne is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the Silicon Photonics group in North Reading, MA. You will steer the mechanical engineering platform from concept to released products, coordinating across mechanical design, optical systems, and manufacturing to drive innovation.

You will mentor teams, craft project plans, and partner with suppliers to ensure quality, scalability, and schedule adherence in a fast-paced, global environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years leading engineering teams in a managerial or technical leadership role.
• Experience bringing complex products from concept through release.
• Strong background in mechanical system design within multidisciplinary products.
• Preferred: Master's in Mechanical Engineering or related field; semiconductor/optical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering strategy and execution across the full product lifecycle.
• Develop project plans defining scope, resources, costs, schedules, and quality.
• Collaborate with systems, optics, software, and manufacturing teams.
• Build, mentor, and develop a mechanical engineering team across sites.
• Partner with suppliers and internal stakeholders for quality and manufacturability.
• Ensure design reviews, risk management, and compliance with global standards.
