Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the national Power Generation team. You will lead the mechanical design effort for utility-scale projects, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and ensure technical and contractual requirements are met. A BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET) and 10+ years of experience, plus a PE license, are preferred.

Strong communication and mentoring skills are highly valued as you guide junior engineers and collaborate with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in power/ fossil generation projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by local licensing board.
• Extensive experience in project execution within Power Market Sector.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Power Market Sector design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
• Active participant in employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project mechanical team and coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
• Monitor project status and communicate with stakeholders.
• Provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects.
• Develop construction drawings, bid specifications, sizing calculations, and technical memos.
• Support design for simple cycle and combined cycle power generation projects.
