Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design.
  • Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license required.
  • Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
  • Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation.
  • Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm desired.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience
  • Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license

Join to apply for the Senior Mechanical Power Engineer role at HDR

HDR is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our national Power Generation team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be joining a highly capable, multi-discipline team that supports power and energy projects primarily within the utility, IPP, industrial, and institutional sectors.

Primary duties typically involve leadership of the project mechanical team, coordination with other engineering disciplines, monitoring, and communication of project status, and providing mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects on both a technical and contractual level.

Preferred candidates will have significant experience utility-scale power generation systems and equipment, and proven ability to plan, schedule, and lead design projects. Typical deliverables developed by this individual and/or their team include construction drawings, bid specifications, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, technical memos, bid evaluations, code reviews, feasibility studies, reports, and cost estimates.

  • Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation
  • Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm desired
Required Qualifications
