Job summary

Aecon Engineering Services Inc. (United) is seeking a Chief Discipline Engineer to lead the mechanical and piping engineering teams for power projects in the United States.

You will develop work processes, guide technical standards, and ensure safe, compliant design practices across projects. Ideal candidates bring a PE license, 12+ years of engineering experience including 5+ years in supervisory roles for nuclear or conventional power plants, and strong leadership and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year accredited college.
• 12 years of engineering experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory capacity designing conventional and/or nuclear power plants.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills; Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Excellent verbal & written communication; ability to mentor staff.
• Ability to interpret codes, permitting processes, and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop work processes, tools and knowledge resources to improve discipline performance.
• Manage assignment of discipline engineers for projects and staffing plans based on workload.
• Analyze engineering practices, manpower expenditures and project costs across regions/offices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to project staff; share knowledge across teams.
• Lead recruitment and development planning for the discipline and establish performance metrics.
