Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Generation) in Houston, TX, to lead mechanical design for thermal generation and district energy facilities. Responsibilities include client interface, budgeting, and mentoring staff, with 5–10% travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 10+ years of post-education experience in mechanical design for industrial facilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (multi-state preferred).
• Experience with power generation and district energy projects.
• Proficient with mechanical engineering principles and design practices.
• Knowledge of mechanical construction codes, compliance and records.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects for thermal generation and district energy facilities; manage budgets and resources.
• Interface with clients, vendors and contractors.
• Mentor and direct junior staff and coordinate with piping designers and drafters.
• Perform equipment sizing and piping pressure drop calculations; prepare P&IDs.
