Job summary

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Generation) to join our Power & Energy team. The role focuses on mechanical design for thermal generation and district energy facilities across multiple U.S.

locations, including Houston, NY, Seattle, Boise, Overland Park, Atlanta, Oradell and Mt. Laurel. You will lead design efforts, mentor staff, coordinate with piping designers, produce P&IDs, perform sizing and pressure drop calculations, and ensure QA/QC across projects while

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of post-education experience in mechanical design for industrial facilities.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license, multi-state preferred.
• Experience with power generation and district energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction codes, regulations, and record-keeping.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Self-led with multi-tasking and prioritization in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects for thermal generation and district energy facilities, managing budgets and tracking hours.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with piping designers and drafters.
• Prepare P&IDs, pipe/valve selection and sizing for power plants.
• Develop piping pressure drop calculations and route supports.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance and safety on projects.
• Travel to sites as needed (5–10%).
