Job summary
WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Generation) to join our Power & Energy team, primarily in Houston, TX with consideration for NY, WA, ID, KS, GA, NJ, and MT locations.
The role focuses on mechanical design for thermal generation and district energy facilities. The successful candidate will lead project design, interface with clients and vendors, mentor staff, prepare P&IDs, perform sizing and pressure drop calculations, and ensure QA/QC adherence while traveling 5-10% as
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET‑accredited program.
- 10+ years of post-education mechanical design experience for industrial facilities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license; multi-state preferred.
- Experience with power generation and district energy projects.
- Strong communication and leadership skills; attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design projects for thermal generation and district energy facilities.
- Interface with clients, vendors and contractors.
- Mentor and direct junior staff.
- Prepare P&IDs with pipe sizing and valve selection.
- Perform design calculations and QA/QC oversight.
- Travel to client sites as needed (5–10%).
