WSP USA seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Generation) to lead design for power and district energy facilities. You will oversee budgets, schedule tasks, and coordinate with clients, vendors, and cross‑functional teams across multiple locations in the U.S.

This role offers growth within a global engineering firm focused on the energy transition. The position requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 10+ years of experience, and a PE license, with travel 5–10% to project sites.

Qualifications

• ABET‑accredited BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of post‑graduate mechanical design for industrial facilities.
• PE license (multi‑state preferred).
• Experience with power generation and district energy projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work with engineers and non‑engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design projects for thermal generation facilities; manage budgets and track hours.
• Interface with clients, vendors, and contractors.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with piping designers and drafters.
• Prepare P&IDs, pipe sizing and equipment sizing for plant systems.
• Develop piping pressure drop calculations and construction scopes of work.
• Perform engineering studies and ensure QA/QC adherence.
• Travel to sites as needed (5%–10%).
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and ethics.
