WSP Global Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Generation) to join our Power & Energy team. You will lead mechanical design for thermal generation and district energy projects, mentor staff, and coordinate with piping teams across multiple sites including Houston and New Jersey.

You will interface with clients and vendors, perform sizing and P&ID work, and ensure QA/QC adherence while traveling to sites as needed (5-10%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from ABET program.
• 10+ years in mechanical design for industrial facilities.
• PE license; multi-state preferred.
• Experience with power generation and district energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical construction codes and practices.
• Excellent communication for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Self-leadership, multitasking and detail orientation.

Responsabilités

• Lead mechanical design projects for thermal generation and district energy facilities.
• Interface with clients, equipment vendors and contractors.
• Mentor and direct less experienced staff members.
• Coordinate design requirements with piping designers and drafters.
• Perform equipment sizing calculations.
• Develop piping pressure drop calculations.
• Prepare P&IDs and allocate pipe/valve sizing for plant systems.
• Route piping and design pipe supports.
• Prepare construction scopes of work for mechanical systems.
• Conduct engineering studies and cost estimates.
• Apply codes and standards and ensure QA/QC adherence.
• Travel to sites (5-10%) to verify conditions and monitor progress.
