Job summary

Centrus Energy Corp. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and optimize facility piping systems, size components, and prepare drawings and specifications.

You will perform flow, pressure-drop, thermal, and stress checks to ensure safe and efficient operation. Responsibilities include supporting safety reviews, procurement, factory acceptance testing, field inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting under the guidance of senior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field, or equivalent education/experience.
• At least two years of hands-on experience with piping, fluid systems, or process equipment.
• Experience with equipment sizing and calculations, and familiarity with applicable codes and safety standards.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance.
• Familiarity with drafting or analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize facility piping systems; size mechanical components and prepare and update drawings and specifications.
• Perform flow, pressure-drop, thermal, and stress checks.
• Support safety reviews, procurement, and factory acceptance testing.
• Assist with field inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting under senior staff guidance.
