Job summary

Centrus Energy Corp. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and optimize facility piping systems, size components, and maintain technical drawings and specs.

You will perform flow, thermal, stress, and structural checks under senior staff guidance. The role supports safety/quality reviews, procurement evaluations, factory acceptance testing, field inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting of complex systems.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least two years of hands-on experience with piping, fluid systems, or process equipment.
• Experience with equipment sizing, calculations, relevant codes and safety practices; ability to obtain/maintain a Q security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize facility piping systems, size mechanical components, prepare and update technical drawings and specifications.
• Perform flow, pressure-drop, thermal, stress, and structural checks.
• Support safety and quality reviews, procurement evaluations, factory acceptance testing, field inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting under senior staff guidance.
