Job summary

Colorado Network Staffing (CNS) seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.

You will act as SME for mechanical systems, design, review, and construction support across HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, gas, and specialty equipment for federal facilities. Lead design from concept through construction, coordinate with engineers, project managers, and federal stakeholders; perform load calculations, energy modeling, and life-cycle analyses, ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• PE license (P.E./Professional Engineer) is required.
• Minimum 10 years of mechanical system design experience for large facilities.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and related building systems.
• Experience with federal or governmental projects is preferred.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design and construction phases.

Responsibilities

• Apply SME guidance for mechanical systems design and reviews.
• Lead HVAC, plumbing, and fire suppression design across facilities.
• Perform load calculations and energy modeling for projects.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders through design and construction.
• Develop construction packages and support during construction.
• Review submittals and assist with field problem resolution.
• Provide technical leadership and quality assurance on projects.
