Job summary

AVANTech, LLC seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to provide technical leadership in design, analysis, fabrication support, testing and implementation for industrial, government, and nuclear applications. You will review 3D models, 2D drawings, reports, and calculations, and develop engineering solutions while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• PE license preferred, not required.
• Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
• Nuclear experience with government or commercial clients preferred.
• DOE design experience is a plus.
• Experience with pressure vessels, piping, and structural design.
• Familiar with ASME and related standards.
• Proficient with SolidWorks, Creo, COMPASS, Mathcad.

Responsibilities

• Lead design reviews and provide technical oversight on projects.
• Perform calculations to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Support scope, cost, and scheduling for projects.
• Mentor engineers and designers; support subcontractors.
• Serve as technical resource during customer reviews and audits.
• Maintain documentation for traceability and configuration management.
• Apply safety-significant engineering practices.
