Job description

WhoWeAre

AVANTech, LLC is a rapidlygrowing technology leader designing, engineering, and deploying custom, high-purity, and nuclear-grade water treatment systems for complex government and commercial applications. From serving as primary responders during the Fukushima Nuclear Plant remediation to pioneering patented industrial wastewater recycling and managing legacy nuclear defense waste, we tackle the world's most challenging fluids-engineering problems. At AVANTech, we bridge advanced mechanical design with real-world, high-consequence field execution.

The Role: Translating Engineering to Execution

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to serve as the critical technical bridge between our Mechanical Design, Systems Quality, and Fabrication teams. In this role, you will not just "write work package instructions" - you will be an integral part of the Design for Manufacturability and Process Execution Strategy for complex, code-compliant pressurized vessels, skid-mounted piping systems, and custom nuclear-grade equipment.

You will analyze CAD models and ASME drawings, establish optimized fabrication and assembly sequencing, and integrate strict ASME Section VIII/B31.3 compliance protocols directly into production workflows. If you thrive on solving complex manufacturability puzzles, eliminating production bottlenecks, and translating advanced mechanical designs into physical realization, this role offers direct impact with a growing company.

Key Responsibilities
Design for Manufacturability & Process Strategy
  • Engineering Translation: Analyze complex 3D CAD models, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and structural/mechanical schematics to establish precise, multi-stage fabrication workflows for heavy welded structures and pressure systems.
  • Continuous Improvement & Root-Cause Analysis: Lead root-cause failure analysis investigations on fabrication variances, feeding actionable insights back to Design Engineering to optimize future product designs.
Nuclear & Pressure Code Systems Integration
  • Regulatory & Quality Architecture: Create robust, code-compliant Manufacturing Execution Packages (Travelers) that embed precise inspection criteria, hold points, and non-destructive examination (NDE) protocols governing ASME Section VIII, B31.3 programs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partner directly with Mechanical Design Engineers, Quality Assurance leads, and Shop Fabricators to validate tooling, staging, and lifting/rigging requirements for large-scale modular skids.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Educational Background: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline. Significant fabrication & planning experience can be substituted for an Engineering degree.
  • Technical Experience: 3+ years of experience in an engineering or heavy-manufacturing environment with a strong foundation in metal fabrication, machining processes, and structural/piping assembly sequences.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with custom pressure vessel manufacturing, skid integration, or nuclear/defense equipment fabrication
  • Practical knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques (VT, PT, UT, RT)
What We Offer
  • Competitive Salary & Advancement: Salaried, exempt engineering role structured for clear upward mobility within Engineering or Operations Management.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Generous PTO/holidays, health/dental/vision, and 401(k) with employer matching.
  • High-Impact: Direct involvement in mission-critical environment restoration and nuclear defense technology projects.

Annualsalary range based on experience and skill level.
