Job summary

Tessolve is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for NPI in the Bay Area to lead system-level product development from concept to production ramp. This hands-on role blends design, prototyping, and high-volume manufacturing to deliver complex products.

The successful candidate will drive DFM/DFA improvements, develop CAD models and docs, and collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure production readiness and lifecycle support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and NPI for system-level or electromechanical products.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of DFM, DFA, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with prototype builds, product validation, and manufacturing transfer.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
• Preferred: Experience with semiconductor equipment, optical/photonics products, robotics, automation systems, or precision electromechanical assemblies.
• Preferred: Familiarity with PLM, ERP, and change control processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and development of system-level products.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities including prototyping, qualification, pilot builds, and production ramp.
• Apply DFM/DFA principles to improve manufacturability, quality, and cost.
• Develop CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Optical, Systems, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams.
• Drive root cause analysis and resolution of product and manufacturing issues.
• Work with suppliers and contract manufacturers to support production readiness and volume manufacturing.
• Support ECOs, design reviews, and product lifecycle management.
