Job summary

Sanmina Fremont is seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design and development of electromechanical products. You will drive from concept to prototype (NPI) to production, ensuring manufacturability and cost targets are met.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 2–4 years of related experience, proficiency in SolidWorks or CREO, and experience with DFx, welding, fabrication, and machining.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 2–4 years of electromechanical product design and DFx experience.
• Experience with design for manufacturability, welding, fabrication, and machining is a plus.
• Strong communication and ability to interact with customers and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or CREO; familiarity with MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and manufacturing activities on assigned projects and may coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Estimate effort, define scope, and prepare statements of work with deliverables and timelines.
• Develop mechanical solutions compliant with customer requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with industrial, manufacturing, electrical, and thermal engineers to integrate DFx.
• Perform VAVE to reduce cost while maintaining design intent.
• Deliver complete designs and BOMs for fabrication and installation.
