Job summary

m2e Consulting Engineers in South/Central Florida seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support design, inspections, and project administration for diverse clients in construction and redevelopment.

The role emphasizes HVAC system design proficiency, building envelope awareness, and collaboration with owners, architects, and contractors. A Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 4+ years of post-degree experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• 4+ years of post-degree experience in construction, design, inspection, or estimating.
• Strong HVAC design background with plumbing inspections.
• Experience in building envelope or related consulting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules for construction projects.
• Identify complex problems and devise innovative solutions across boundaries.
• Manage contracts, pre-construction meetings, time schedules, change orders, and closeout tasks.
• Attend pre-design, pre-bid, and pre-construction meetings as staff representative.
• Travel to job sites, report progress, and address potential problems with supervisory staff.
• Adhere to office standards and escalate conflicts promptly to protect project deliverables.
• Enter time daily and contribute to project budgeting and scheduling.
