Job summary

Panthalassa is seeking a Senior Engineer, Marine Operations to design, build, and test bespoke support equipment for offshore deployment, retrieval, inspection, and maintenance of our offshore assets in Portland, Oregon. You will conduct trade studies, perform analyses, and detail CAD designs (Siemens NX).

The role includes commissioning support, sustaining engineering, and travel to offshore sites as needed.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in mechanical engineering.
• Experience owning hardware development from concept to commissioning.
• Strong understanding of marine systems, hydraulics/pneumatics, automation and data acquisition.
• Ability to solve problems with unclear requirements.
• Capable of managing critical vendor relations.
• Thrive in a culture of personal ownership.
• Proficient with 3D modeling software (Siemens NX).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Responsible Engineer for the development of novel marine support systems (steel structures, mechanisms, hydraulics/pneumatics, and data acquisition).
• Perform trade studies to identify preferred architectures/requirements.
• Conduct analyses and coordinate with SMEs to support design.
• Detail the design of bespoke mechanical equipment (CAD/Schematics).
• Oversee fabrication, testing, and commissioning of critical assets.
• Support offshore operations through initial commissioning and sustaining engineering.
