Panthalassa in Portland, Oregon, seeks a Senior Engineer, Marine Operations, to design, build, and test bespoke support equipment for offshore assets. You will lead cradle-to-grave mechanical assets, perform trade studies, and provide commissioning support to operations teams.

The role emphasizes hands-on engineering, problem solving in dynamic environments, and collaboration with vendors and offshore staff to deploy reliable offshore energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Own the development of novel hardware from concept through commissioning.
• Understand marine systems fundamentals: welded structures, hydraulics/pneumatics, automation & data acquisition.
• Solve problems lacking clear requirements with proactive engineering.
• Manage critical vendor relationships and project priorities.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Responsible Engineer for developing novel marine support systems (structures, mechanisms, pneumatics/hydraulics, controls).
• Carry out trade studies to identify preferred architectures and requirements.
• Detail the design of bespoke mechanical equipment (CAD modeling, schematics).
• Execute fabrication, testing, and commissioning of critical assets.
• Support offshore operations through initial commissioning and sustaining engineering.
