NextGenEnergyJobs in Portland, OR is seeking a Senior Marine Engineer, Marine Operations to design, build, and test bespoke support equipment for automated deployment and maintenance of offshore assets.

You will lead offshore operations, supervise technicians, and coordinate vendors, with travel to offshore sites as needed. The role offers equity and a comprehensive benefits package, with relocation assistance to Portland.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in mechanical or marine engineering.
• 5+ years of hardware development from concept through commissioning.
• Strong understanding of marine systems, welded structures, hydraulics/pneumatics, automation and data acquisition.
• Proven ability to solve problems with undefined requirements.
• Experience offshore operations and vendor management.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test mechanical assets for offshore deployment and maintenance.
• Lead cradle-to-grave development and perform trade studies.
• Support offshore operators during commissioning and sustaining engineering.
• Oversee offshore load-outs, wet towage, deployments, recoveries, moorings, and test campaigns.
• Manage a small team of technicians and coordinate vendors.
• Interface with regulators and ensure compliance.
