Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Senior Engineer, Marine Operations in Portland, Oregon, to design, build, and test bespoke mechanical support equipment for offshore deployment, retrieval, inspection, and maintenance. You will lead cradle-to-grave development and perform system analyses to enable reliable operation in harsh marine environments.

Travel to vendors and test sites will be required; there is a strong emphasis on hands-on engineering, problem-solving in ill-defined situations, and

Qualifications

• BS or higher in mechanical engineering.
• Experience owning hardware development from concept through commissioning.
• Strong understanding of marine systems fundamentals (welded structures, hydraulics/pneumatics, etc.).
• Ability to solve ill-defined problems and manage vendor relations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test bespoke mechanical support equipment for deployment, retrieval, inspection, and maintenance of offshore assets.
• Lead cradle-to-grave development of mechanical assets; conduct trade studies to identify system architectures.
• Perform engineering analyses and create detailed designs to reach operational readiness.
• Support offshore operators during initial commissioning and sustaining engineering.
• Collaborate with vendors, manage CAD models, schematics, and fabrication oversight.
• Travel to vendors and test sites as needed; work extended hours when critical.
