Job summary

Panthalassa, based in Portland, Oregon, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Marine Operations. You will design, build, and test bespoke support equipment to enable automated deployment, retrieval, inspection, and maintenance of offshore assets, with emphasis on reliability in harsh ocean environments.

You will own cradle-to-grave hardware, conduct trade studies, perform analyses, create detailed designs, and support offshore operators from commissioning through sustaining engineering in a

Qualifications

• BS or higher in mechanical engineering.
• 5+ years of hardware development from concept through commissioning.
• Strong understanding of marine systems (welded structures, mechanical assemblies, hydraulics/pneumatics, automation & data acquisition).
• Ability to solve problems with unclear requirements.
• Experience managing vendor relations.
• Ownership culture and accountability.
• Proficient with 3D modeling software (Siemens NX strongly preferred).

Responsibilities

• Serve as Responsible Engineer for novel automated marine support systems.
• Complete trade studies to identify architectures/requirements.
• Perform engineering analyses and coordinate SME support.
• Detail mechanical designs (CAD, schematics).
• Execute fabrication, testing, and commissioning of critical assets.
• Support offshore operations during commissioning and sustaining engineering.
