Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for machine design in Richardson, TX. This onsite role focuses on dynamic electro‑mechanical systems, gear boxes, motors, actuators, and hydraulic pumps, collaborating with Electrical and Systems teams.

You will perform FEA using ANSYS, manage ECOs, mentor peers, and work with IPT to manage scope and risks. A STEM degree and 5+ years of experience are required; DoD clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 5+ years of experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Familiar with RTCA DO-160 and MIL-STD-810.
• Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies including sensors, motors, actuators, pulleys, gears and pumps.

Responsibilities

• Design and document high-complexity mechanical/electro-mechanical hardware (gear boxes, motors, actuators, pumps, bearings).
• Perform sizing, strength, and dynamic-load analyses across the product lifecycle.
• Manage ECOs and supplier changes, obsolescence, and DMSMS.
