Job summary

RTX's Collins Aerospace SDS team in Largo, FL seeks a highly motivated Senior Level Mechanical Engineer to provide structural analysis, design updates, and documentation for military equipment. This onsite role requires collaboration with design groups and customers to produce deliverables that support certifications. U.S.

citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance are required. The role emphasizes MIL-STD-810 environments, CAD design, FEA, and cross-functional teamwork on

Qualifications

• Requires ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance (DoD Secret).
• Typically a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years experience.
• Experience with CFD/thermal analysis using simulation tools (ANSYS Icepak or equivalent).
• Experience with modal analysis, internal stresses, fatigue, margins of safety, and FEA software (ANSYS Mechanical or equivalent).
• Knowledge of PLM/PDM software (PTC Windchill) and 3D CAD (PTC Creo).

Responsibilities

• Provide structural analysis and design input for military equipment.
• Document analysis results for internal and customer use and certification packages.
• Lead investigations into complex tasks and identify root causes.
• Collaborate with IPT to assess risks and opportunities.
• Create military-compliant designs using machined/sheet metal parts and off-the-shelf items.
• Coordinate with designers to produce and release drawings.
• Support testing to verify requirements and correlate with analyses.
