Job summary

VoltAir Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design mechanical concepts aligned with the owner's vision for projects. The role requires extensive practice in the consulting engineering process and familiarity with project contracts.

You will lead multi-discipline teams, prepare BIM drawings, coordinate with architects and engineers, and ensure code-compliant designs for commercial facilities. The position is based in Tampa, FL or Houston, TX, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States and based in Tampa, FL or Houston, TX.
• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering.
• 10+ years in mechanical engineering management and design of commercial buildings.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of residence.
• 5+ years leading multi-discipline engineering teams.
• Experience with design-build, fast-track, and other delivery methods.
• Proficient in Revit MEP and other engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope and use software to create mechanical designs including HVAC systems.
• Perform studies and analyses to determine cost-effective layouts and specs.
• Supervise and mentor project designers and engineers.
• Prepare BIM drawings and coordinate with all disciplines through all project phases.
• Perform construction administration tasks including site observations and punch lists.
• Maintain relationships with clients, architects, and code officials.
• Assist in proposals and client presentations.
