Job summary

VoltAir, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Electrical Engineer I based in Tampa, FL or Houston, TX, to apply professional and technical expertise in designing electrical systems for commercial projects.

You will work within the consulting engineering process, coordinating with design teams and clients to align with project goals. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with 10+ years in electrical engineering management and a PE license.

Qualifications

• Authorized to work in the United States and based in Tampa, FL or Houston, TX.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• PE license in relevant state(s) where projects are built.
• 10+ years in electrical engineering management and design of commercial buildings.
• Experience with design-build and fast-track delivery methods.
• Proficient in Revit MEP and related engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope and ensure contract documents reflect it; manage variances.
• Create electrical system designs including lighting, power distribution, and life-safety.
• Prepare BIM drawings and coordinate with all disciplines through all project phases.
• Perform construction administration: site observations, shop drawings, punch lists.
• Maintain client relations and communicate with partners, architects, and code officials.
• Mentor less experienced electrical engineers and designers.
• Other duties as assigned.
