Job summary

Re:Build Manufacturing is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to drive mechanical system design in Merrimack, NH or Kalamazoo, MI. You will create fabrication drawings, BOMs, schematics, and assembly drawings while guiding project teams to meet milestones.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead technical reviews with clients, and contribute to proposals, concepts, and cost estimates for complex electro-mechanical systems. This role requires strong communication and collaboration.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university, plus equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in a design engineering role with experience in indirectly coaching and guiding junior team members.
• Strong written and verbal communications, organizational and time management skills.
• Familiarity with motion systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, robots, etc.
• Experience using CAD packages such as SolidWorks; FE A tools like Mathcad/Ansys is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems, fabrication drawings, BOMs, schematics, and assembly drawings.
• Coach and mentor junior engineers and communicate effectively within the team.
• Participate in client meetings and internal engineering design reviews.
• Develop project proposals, concepts, and estimate effort and equipment cost.
• Support technicians during machine build to solve problems.
