Job summary

Mission Design & Automation in Holland, MI is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who wants to impact real projects. You will lead mechanical design of custom automated equipment from concept through installation while mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality systems on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience.
• 5 years of experience designing automation machinery.
• Proficient in SolidWorks/AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Experience leading projects from concept through production.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design, development, and documentation of custom automated equipment from concept through startup.
• Develop innovative, reliable, and cost-effective mechanical solutions that meet customer specifications and standards.
• Serve as the technical lead for assigned projects, mitigating risks throughout the lifecycle.
• Mentor and train junior engineers with guidance, design reviews, and development opportunities.
• Review designs for manufacturability, quality, and adherence to customer requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
