Job summary

ENGEL Machinery North America is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to create mechanical designs, 2D drawings and 3D models for automation cells, retrofits and reconfigurations. You will construct BOMs for robots and auxiliary equipment and provide general mechanical engineering support for field work.

You will act as technical lead for the ME team, oversee standards, quality of design, and deliverables, and collaborate across project teams from quoting to FATs and training.

Qualifications

• Proficient in 3D modeling and 2D drawing for automation cells and retrofits.
• Experience with robotics and automation equipment.
• Ability to lead a mechanical engineering team with standards and quality checks.
• Familiarity with SAP for BOMs and material management.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and 2D drawings for automation equipment and retrofits.
• Develop and manage bill of materials (BOM) for production orders.
• Provide technical support to field teams and facilitate project workflows.
• Lead ME department standards, reviews, and quality checkpoints.
• Prepare specifications ensuring ENGEL standards are met.
• Participate in project kickoffs, design reviews, FATs and handoffs.
