Job summary

DLR Group in the United States is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer focused on the Justice + Civic sector to lead cross-functional project teams, develop high quality construction documents, and drive project schedules to meet client goals.

You will collaborate with architects and engineers across regions, guide business development, manage budgets, and maintain quality standards while fostering client relationships and delivering integrated building designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
• 15+ years of experience in engineering, including building systems for Justice + Civic projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems in justice facilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple projects and staff across regions, ensuring teams understand design criteria for justice projects.
• Assure design quality through multiple review points and coordinate with disciplines.
• Manage project execution, budget, schedule, and scope; maintain client expectations.
• Track milestones, deliverables, and status reports for ongoing projects.
• Facilitate meetings with staff, clients, vendors, and consultants; document outcomes.
• Support business development through RFP responses and client interviews.
