Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead the CHGB Mechanical Structures IPT in the development and integration of hypersonic glide body hardware. You will drive technical decisions, ensure robust design, and coordinate with design agents and suppliers.

You will mentor engineers, oversee MRB/FRB/RCCA processes, and communicate program status to customers while supporting producibility and manufacturability improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited institution with 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams or IPTs for complex mechanical subsystems.
• Experience planning and coordinating engineering activities, deliverables, and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering activities for CHGB IPT including technical execution, deliverables, and issue resolution.
• Develop and maintain engineering plans, schedules, and manage technical risks.
• Define mechanical assemblies, subsystems, and ground support equipment in the TDP.
