Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to support the Thermal Protection System for the CHGB program, collaborating with design and manufacturing teams to deliver compliant hardware.

The role requires a degree from an ABET-accredited program with 4+ years of relevant experience or an MS with 2+ years, CAD proficiency, GD&T knowledge, and DoD/hypersonics exposure. Some travel to CO Springs is required and second shift is possible.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree or higher with relevant experience.
• Experience applying GD&T and reading engineering drawings.
• Experience in manufacturing/production environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering activities for Thermal Protection System.
• Coordinate with design to improve manufacturability and quality.
• Resolve production bottlenecks with operations teams.
• Develop work instructions with manufacturing engineering.
• Support installation and field work in classified environments.
• Manage RCCA investigations and FRB processes.
