Job summary

Northrop Grumman seeks a seasoned Technical Hardware Lead to guide the cross-disciplinary team for a hypersonic vehicle program. The role includes coordinating with PMs to ensure schedule, cost, and technical goals are met while managing resources and interfaces across mechanical, structural, aerothermal, materials, electrical, and RF disciplines.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication, and a proactive, detail-oriented approach in a fast-paced R&D

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related STEM field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience.
  • U.S. citizen.
  • Active Secret clearance, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
  • Experience working with Electrical Engineering Teams.
  • Experience working with Aerothermal teams and Aerodynamicists.
  • Experience organizing, distributing and status tasking.
  • Experience balancing cost, technical, and schedule with PM coordination.
  • Experience creating and releasing mechanical PDPs.
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability.
  • Experience designing air vehicle structures.
  • Experience developing mechanical interfaces and creating ICMs.
  • Proficiency with GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience managing large system CAD models and mechanical interfaces.
  • Experience assessing mass properties (AIAA S-120A preferred).
  • Experience performing air vehicle static structural assessments and related sizing tools.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership abilities.
  • Proven performance in fast-paced R&D environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Technical Hardware team for a hypersonic vehicle.
  • Work with the PM to execute the schedule, meet cost, and meet technical requirements.
  • Identify, distribute, and status tasking; support PM in schedule development.
  • Identify resource constraints and coordinate with Office Chief Engineer to ensure technical performance.
