Job summary

Woolpert is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Coral Gables, FL team, offering in-person or hybrid work. You will lead HVAC/plumbing design, perform load calculations, and mentor staff while ensuring code compliance and high-quality deliverables.

The role emphasizes energy modeling, BIM coordination, and collaboration across disciplines, with a focus on sustainability and client satisfaction. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• PE certification required; BS in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of experience.
• Experience leading engineering projects in HVAC/plumbing.
• Proficiency with Revit and coordination across disciplines.
• Experience with energy modeling and sustainability credentials.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations using Trane Trace 3D Plus.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews for code-compliant deliverables.
• Develop models, plans, drawings per established standards.
• In-depth knowledge of energy modeling using COMcheck and EnergyGauge.
• Support career development and technical skill advancement of team members.
• Conduct training sessions for internal employees when necessary.
