Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design, evaluate, and manage complex government facility systems in Hawaii. You will coordinate with DoD stakeholders to ensure compliance, reliability, and mission readiness across HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and utilities.

The role requires 10+ years of relevant experience, PE preferred, and proficiency with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and BIM tools. A Secret clearance to start is required, with up to 10% travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in mechanical/facilities engineering for government or DoD programs.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, fuel, fire protection, and utility systems.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage schedules/budgets.
• ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree preferred; PE license desirable.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, SolidWorks, and BIM tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and evaluate mechanical systems for government facilities.
• Develop calculations, specifications, drawings, and cost estimates.
• Review drawings, submittals, and engineering documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Support construction management, field inspections, commissioning, and quality assurance.
• Provide mentoring to junior engineers and field personnel.
• Promote engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
