Job summary

Corning is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to provide hands-on engineering support for equipment construction, installation, debugging, and startup at domestic and international sites.

The role oversees internal teams and contract personnel to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality execution. Requirements include a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 2–7 years in manufacturing, with hands-on experience in mechanical tools, piping, drives, and actuators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–7 years of manufacturing experience.
• Hands-on with mechanical tools and measurement equipment.
• Strong teamwork, adaptability, and safety commitment.
• Interpret engineering requirements and translate into equipment designs and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design, installation, modification, debugging, and startup of manufacturing equipment.
• Develop project plans with emphasis on safety, quality, schedule, and cost control.
• Direct and mentor technicians, contractors, designers, and junior engineers during fabrication and startup.
• Coordinate materials, procurement, vendor communication, expediting, and documentation.
• Promote proactive safety culture and risk assessments during projects.
• Communicate project status and risks to teams and leadership.
