Corning Incorporated is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer in the Automation & Equipment Design group. This onsite role at Sullivan Park, Corning, NY involves designing, building, and commissioning advanced automation equipment for Corning’s manufacturing plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years in machine and automation systems design, build and install in manufacturing.
• Proficiency in CAD, GD&T, ANSI Y14.5 drafting standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver custom machines and automation systems for production plants.
• Define machine specs, budgets, tolerance analyses and test plans; evaluate data and recommend actions.
• Manage external vendors and system integrators through design to installation and start-up.
• Lead or support on-site commissioning and plant start-up at Corning facilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate process requirements into reliable designs.
• Track budgets and schedules; report status to stakeholders.
