Job summary

Symbotic LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to advance the mechanical development of its mobile robot product line. You will own hardware from concept through production ramp, collaborate with contract manufacturers, and drive RCCA-based problem solving to sustain production quality.

Responsibilities include designing frames, drive systems, packaging, and tooling, creating CAD models and BOMs in SolidWorks, and ensuring DFx for high-volume manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years in mechanical engineering, with robotics/automation experience preferred.
• Experience with DFx, contract manufacturers, and ECNs.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware for a mobile 4-wheeled robot product line from concept to end-of-life.
• Design mechanical assemblies including frames, drive systems, and packaging.
• Create 3D models, drawings and BOMs in SolidWorks.
• Apply DFM/DFA for high-volume manufacturing and cost efficiency.
• Liaise with contract manufacturers; support production builds and issue resolution.
• Present design reviews and update documentation in PLM/PDM systems.
• Develop jigs, fixtures, and tooling to improve quality and throughput.
