Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for our Cranston, RI engineering facility. You will lead design improvements, drive product innovation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance fire suppression solutions.

The role requires hands-on lab experience, full product lifecycle involvement, and proficiency with SolidWorks or Creo. Candidates must be US citizens or permanent residents and be able to relocate if needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience.
• Hands-on lab experience collaborating with technicians.
• Experience with the full product development lifecycle, including prototyping and testing.
• Ability to strategize test plans without predefined protocols.

Responsibilities

• Product lifecycle support, product improvement, and maintenance of approvals.
• Create detailed designs and prototypes, ensuring compliance with international standards.
• Conduct feasibility, stress, thermal, and fluid analyses to support design decisions.
• Maintain documentation per ISO and internal quality standards.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality management, Project/Product management, Sourcing and Approval agencies.
• Coordinate and lead design reviews, test plans, and project meetings.
