Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for the Fire Suppression Sustaining Engineering team. You will lead product improvements, redesign initiatives, and resolve technical issues, working hands-on with technicians at our Cranston, RI facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Hands-on lab experience with technicians.
• Experience with full product development lifecycle and prototyping.
• Knowledge of stage-gate methodologies and time-sensitive projects.
• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.

Responsibilities

• Provide product lifecycle support and drive product improvements.
• Create detailed designs and prototypes while ensuring ISO compliance.
• Perform feasibility, stress, thermal, and fluid analyses for design decisions.
• Document work per ISO and internal quality standards.
• Support test programs and prototype development.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, and Sourcing.
• Lead design reviews, test plans, and project meetings.
• Analyze data and ensure timely progress through milestones.
