Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team developing state-of-the-art Electronic Warfare systems. The role involves designing, testing, and validating mechanical components and systems, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure performance and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, 6+ years of experience, and proficiency with SolidWorks or Creo, including thermal modelling and FEA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 6+ years related experience in mechanical engineering roles.
• Ability to obtain US Security clearance.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with SolidWorks or Creo and thermal modelling.

Responsibilities

• Designs complex mechanical systems.
• Prepares complete project design documentation.
• Designs and conducts experiments and analyzes data.
• Assigns tasks to engineers, technicians and staff.
• Plans and coordinates detailed aspects of engineering work.
• Prepares scopes, budgets and schedules for assignments.
• Assists with proposals to obtain funding for projects.
• Interfaces with departments to meet regulatory standards.
• Develops product performance testing and design changes.
