Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III in Petaluma, CA to design, test, and package high-altitude aerospace electronics. You will lead analyses, develop drawings, and guide production drawings and BOMs for complex mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of mechanical engineering experience with production rotating electrical machines.
• Experience with MIL-STD-810/DO-160 familiarity preferred.
• Strong CAD/CAE background in mechanical subsystems and packaging.

Responsibilities

• Lead thermal, structural, dynamic, and fluid flow analyses for electronics equipment.
• Develop mechanical drawings and assembly instructions with BOMs.
• Execute test plans and procedures to verify designs.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on mid-size development projects.
