Job summary

Empirical Systems Aerospace, Inc (ESAero) is seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead design, analysis, testing, and integration of mechanical systems for new aircraft programs. You will create 3D models, drawings, and docs, perform structural/thermal analyses, and collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure design intent is met through prototype build and test.

The role emphasizes full lifecycle product development, from requirements through validation, with mentorship to junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Minimum 9 years of mechanical design experience.
• Expert in SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.
• GD&T detailing in drawings.
• Experience with HyperWorks or similar analysis tools.
• Strong system integration and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Create/modify 3-D models, drawings, assemblies, and installations.
• Perform structural or thermal analyses on structures and systems.
• Develop system requirements, trade studies, and test plans.
• Optimize for manufacturability (DFM/ DFA).
• Prepare engineering development work orders, build guides, and travelers.
