Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to apply engineering principles across the life cycle of solid-state and electromechanical products, performing new development and supporting legacy devices in a fast-paced environment.

You will conduct 3-D modeling, detailed mechanical design, validation, and qualification for power, analog, and digital products, while evaluating thermal and structural performance and managing BOMs and documentation. Travel 10–15% to Binghamton, NY might be required.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in electronics and electromechanical packaging.
• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
• Expertise with AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, work quality, and cost reduction.
• SolidWorks and Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint) proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform 3-D modeling, detailed mechanical design, troubleshooting, validation, and qualification of power, analog, and digital products.
• Analyze packaging power electronics and data acquisition electronics for harsh environments.
• Develop technical reports, cost estimates, BOMs, and design documentation; manage configuration control.
• Interface with customers for design, integration, troubleshooting and field support.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations; participate in design reviews.
• Provide design leadership and coaching in engineering practices; work in a design-build team to meet specifications, manufacturability, cost targets, and schedule targets.
